Kithy Pagett, a 34-year-old woman from Houston, was found dead in her apartment on April 24, 2017. Her body was discovered by a visitor at her residence in the 13111 Northborough complex. She was found lying in her bedroom, having suffered a head wound. Although initial reports suggested the nature of her injuries, the exact cause of death remained under investigation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
On the day of her death, a witness reported seeing an older Hispanic man with a gray mustache and glasses entering the apartment around noon. He was last seen leaving in a blue boxy Honda. Despite this description, the investigation took years to reach a breakthrough. Eventually, Chris Roddy, who was already in custody for an unrelated sexual assault, confessed to the murder of Kithy Pagett in 2021. He admitted to shooting Pagett in her apartment, which finally led to the filing of murder charges against him.
In addition to his confession in Kithy Pagett's case, Roddy also admitted responsibility for the 2016 murder of Dantrell Burks, which occurred in the same general area. These admissions provided some long-awaited answers to the families of the victims and helped bring resolution to two previously unsolved homicides in Houston.
