In the late afternoon of November 4, 2009, the life of 15-year-old Alex Franklin Bolar III was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. An African-American male, Alex was discovered lying on the ground in Georgian Hills Park at approximately 5:15 p.m. by Memphis Police Department officers who were responding to a 'man-down' call. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
