Markell Watkins

In the autumn of 2017, the life of 32-year-old Markell Watkins, an African-American male, was abruptly ended in a burst of violence on a Memphis, Tennessee street. On the evening of November 28th, what began as a heated argument escalated to a fatal encounter. Gunshots rang out in the North Memphis area, and when the chaos subsided, Watkins lay mortally wounded. Another individual was also injured during the incident, a testament to the indiscriminate nature of the violence that erupted.
