On April 8, 2012, Chico Carver, a 23-year-old from Memphis, Tennessee, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Pure Passion Nightclub. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at the popular strip club located in the Whitehaven area of Memphis. After being shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, Carver was rushed to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
