In the spring of 2016, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of 18-year-old Tierney Reid in Memphis, Tennessee. A Black female, Tierney was returning to her Southeast Memphis home on the night of April 10th with her older sister, Melanie, when their lives were irrevocably altered. An unknown assailant approached the two sisters and opened fire, unleashing a hail of bullets that would leave one sister fighting for her life and the other succumbing to her injuries.
