Benjamin Jernigan, a 27-year-old Knoxville resident, was fatally shot on October 8, 2016, in North Knoxville. The shooting took place near the area of Fairfax Avenue and Forsythe Street. Despite extensive investigations, including neighborhood canvassing by the Knoxville Police Department, the case remains unsolved and has become a cold case.
