Tate, an African-American male, was behind the wheel of his Kia SUV, driving with two friends down Park Avenue, when the unthinkable happened. As they paused at a traffic light, another car, described as a white Ford Mustang with black racing stripes, pulled alongside them, and its occupants unleashed a hail of gunfire.
The sudden onslaught of bullets found their mark, and Tate was fatally wounded. His vehicle, now without a driver, careened into a utility pole.
