In the quiet setting of Southlawn Cemetery on Whiskey Road in Aiken, South Carolina, a grim discovery was made on September 24, 2018. James D. Maxwell, a 61-year-old male employee of the cemetery, was found deceased in his small living quarters located at the rear of the office building. A fellow cemetery worker, concerned after not hearing from him, went to check on him and found him unresponsive, prompting a call to 911.
