On May 16, 1999, Joseph Rubio was killed in San Bernardino, California, during a shooting that took place inside his trailer on Conejo Drive. Joseph, along with his brother Gilbert, also known as "Payaso," were inside the trailer when an unknown assailant fired multiple gunshots, fatally striking Joseph. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has classified the case as a homicide and has been investigating it as a cold case for years.
