Justin Jackson, a 19-year-old from Pittsburgh, was fatally shot by police officers on May 6, 2008, along Arlington Avenue in Mount Oliver. According to the police, Jackson was holding a gun when the officers approached. During the incident, a K-9 unit was released in an attempt to subdue him, but Jackson allegedly shot and killed the dog. In response, the officers returned fire, ultimately killing Jackson.
