In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in October 2009, tragedy struck in West Philadelphia, forever altering the lives of those who knew Syed Blackwell. The 29-year-old man, a resident of the neighborhood, was found on the 5600 block of Arch Street, just a short distance from his home. He was suffering from a single gunshot wound.
