In the autumn of 2011, a tragedy unfolded on the streets of North Philadelphia that cut short the life of a young man. Eighteen-year-old Shaquille Jones was in the 2500 block of Silver Street on the afternoon of Monday, October 24th, when the sharp report of a gunshot pierced the air. Jones was struck in the chest, a single, fatal wound that would end his life. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe.
