Cameron Peterson, a 23-year-old alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, was found dead in his Oakland residence on November 1, 2011. The Allegheny County medical examiner reported that the cause of death was initially unknown, pending further lab analysis. Peterson had recently graduated with a degree in molecular biology and was planning to attend medical school. Friends and mentors described him as a positive, enthusiastic individual who loved science, music, and spending time with friends.
Despite his academic dedication, Peterson also enjoyed activities like roller hockey and playing guitar.
