In the early morning hours of June 1, 2014, Clayton Brunson, a 27-year-old Black male, was inside Ficklin's Bar on Fifth Avenue in Uptown Pittsburgh when his life was cut short. An argument between two men escalated, and multiple gunshots rang out within the crowded establishment, which held approximately 200 patrons. Brunson was struck at least once in the abdomen.
