Michael Burkes, aged 32, was fatally shot on April 24, 2014, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred after he placed his 20-month-old baby into a car seat. As he returned to his residence on Marena Street, he was shot and killed on the porch of his home. Michael Burkes had previously been acquitted of two unrelated murder charges before this incident, which made his death even more shocking to his community and family.
