In the summer of 2014, tragedy struck the streets of North Philadelphia, forever altering the lives of the family and friends of Terrence 'Bird' Cox. On the evening of July 31st, the 25-year-old Black male was near a Chinese takeout restaurant, just a short distance from his home, when he was ambushed in what police would later describe as an 'execution-style' shooting. The sudden violence of the act sent shockwaves through the community, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew him.
