In the winter of 2014, the life of 18-year-old Trinel Bikus, a Black male from Pittsburgh, was tragically cut short. The young man was last seen on November 23rd, and a sense of unease grew among his loved ones as the days turned into weeks without any word. A brief glimmer of hope appeared two days after his disappearance when he made a phone call, stating he was in the Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
However, that would be the last time anyone heard from him.
The search for Trinel ended in heartbreak on the evening of December 13, 2014. His body was discovered inside a vacant house on Singer Place in the city's Homewood neighborhood. It was determined that he had been fatally shot. The discovery sent ripples of grief and shock through the community, as another young life was lost to violence.
In the wake of the tragic discovery, the Pittsburgh Police launched a homicide investigation into Trinel's death. Despite their efforts, no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the case. The investigation into the shooting death of Trinel Bikus remains open, and his family and community are still awaiting answers and justice for his untimely death.
