An early morning discovery on a winter day in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood revealed a grim scene. On December 27, 2014, a 911 call just before 6:30 a.m. reported a vehicle that had struck a pole on Dove Way. When first responders arrived, they found a woman inside the car who had been fatally shot in the head. The victim was identified as Kimberly Waller, a 43-year-old African American female from Pittsburgh.
