On June 22, 2015, Tyrone Harris Jr., a 20-year-old from Pittsburgh’s South Side, was fatally shot by police officers during an incident that began as a crime spree and ended in a deadly shootout. The situation began in the Knoxville neighborhood, where Harris allegedly fired a gun at civilians before carjacking a vehicle. This led to a chaotic police chase along Route 51.
