Karon Payne-Smith, a 21-year-old Philadelphia resident, was shot on September 14, 2015. The shooting took place around 11:00 p.m. on the 2300 block of Montrose Street in South Philadelphia. Philadelphia police officers responded to the scene and found Karon lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day, on September 15, 2015.
