On February 13, 2016, Khalil Rider, a 24-year-old Black male, was murdered in Philadelphia. The incident occurred late at night at a bar located on the unit block of North Paxson Street. At approximately 9:53 p.m., Philadelphia police officers responded to the location, where they found Khalil in the rear of the establishment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the arm and torso. Despite the arrival of medical personnel, Khalil did not survive the attack.
Khalil resided on the 5000 block of Beaumont Street in Philadelphia. His case remains unsolved, with no arrests made. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the Philadelphia Police Department in hopes of finally solving the case and providing justice for Khalil and his family. His death adds to the number of unsolved homicides in Philadelphia, underscoring the ongoing struggle with violent crime and the lack of community cooperation that often impedes these investigations.
