On April 15, 2007, Lonnie Ross, a 41-year-old African American man, was fatally struck by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Ocean View neighborhood. The incident occurred around 2:35 p.m. near the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Lobos Street, adjacent to the Ocean View playground, which was closed for renovations at the time.
