On the afternoon of May 19, 2016, a tragic event unfolded on the 2600 block of Dickinson Street in Philadelphia. Responding to a call at approximately 3:22 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers discovered 30-year-old Lamar Henderson inside a 2016 Toyota Corolla. A Black male, Henderson had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were promptly on the scene and transported Henderson to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that afternoon. An investigation revealed he had been shot in his right eye, chest, arm, and the left side of his chest. At the time of his death, Henderson was a resident of the 1900 block of Sigel Street.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and as of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department has urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation. A $20,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
