Paris A. Wheatley, a 31-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the night of Monday, August 22, 2016, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The incident that led to his death began when two women, who were in a vehicle with Wheatley, stopped to pick up another man in the Homewood neighborhood. At some point after this unidentified man entered the vehicle, Wheatley was shot.
Following the shooting, the two female companions drove Wheatley to a local hospital.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival just before 11:30 p.m. The shooting is believed to have occurred near the intersection of Frankstown and Homewood avenues.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the investigation into Paris Wheatley's death was launched. However, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. As of early 2017, the case remained unsolved, and the investigation was still considered ongoing. The individual who was picked up just before the shooting has not been publicly identified.
