In the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, a sense of childhood innocence was shattered on a Monday morning in November. Four-year-old Ajani Lane, a young boy, was at his home on North Negley Avenue when a devastating tragedy unfolded. It was around 8:15 a.m. on November 22, 2021, when the sound of a gunshot echoed through the residence. First responders arrived to a heart-wrenching scene: Ajani had sustained a gunshot wound to the face.
