African-American/Black male Douglas Broadnax, 36, was found shot to death in the early hours of June 29, 1994, in Portland, Oregon, his body discovered around 7 a.m. near the 4100 block of North Albina Avenue. Hours earlier, neighbors had reported gunfire echoing through the area between about 1:30 and 2:00 a.m., and a nearby resident later recalled spotting the 36-year-old man sitting on the curb around 2:30 a.m., not realizing he was already beyond help.
