Who killed Issac?
Isaac Lee Roberts, a 40-year-old Caucasian male, traveled from his home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to his hometown of Joseph, Oregon, for the annual Chief Joseph Days weekend in July 2012. He rode his motorcycle for the trip, intending to reconnect with old friends. On the night of July 28th, he was seen at the Stubborn Mule Bar and Steakhouse, leaving at approximately 1:45 a.m. with two men and two women. After that, the accounts of his whereabouts become uncertain. His wife reported him missing on July 29, 2012, after he failed to return home as planned. He had told her he would be back in time to take his sister to the airport.
The investigation into Roberts' disappearance quickly pointed towards suspicious circumstances. Law enforcement received a report from a man who claimed he and Roberts had driven towards Lewiston, Idaho. According to this man's account, their vehicle ran out of gas on the return trip to Joseph. The man stated that he hitchhiked to get fuel, and when he returned, Roberts told him he was going to hitchhike back to Coeur d'Alene. Roberts supposedly asked the man to look after his motorcycle and belongings and was last seen walking along Highway 3. However, Roberts' family found this story implausible, stating that a lung condition would have prevented him from walking long distances. They also insisted he would never have abandoned his expensive Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
As the search for Roberts continued, the case was reclassified from a missing person investigation to a homicide. Authorities announced that at least two individuals from Union County were considered persons of interest in the case, though their names were not publicly released. Investigators believe Roberts may have traveled to Lewiston with one of these individuals and that he went missing under suspicious circumstances during the return journey to Oregon. Despite the ongoing investigation and the family's offer of a significant reward for information leading to his location, no arrests have been made in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of Isaac Roberts. Foul play is strongly suspected by both his family and law enforcement officials.
