In the quiet early morning hours of February 6, 2024, a tragedy unfolded in a Grants Pass, Oregon, apartment that ended the life of Jhonathan R. Davis Jr., a 23-year-old White/Caucasian male. The incident took place at a residence in the 1000 block of Southeast Park Plaza, near Fruitdale Drive. Police were dispatched to the location after a 911 call came in at 4:08 a.m.
from a male who reported he had just shot another man.
Upon their arrival, officers were met by 25-year-old Kiernan Fucci, who exited the apartment and surrendered to the authorities without any resistance. Once inside the residence, law enforcement discovered the body of Jhonathan Davis, who had succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. Fortunately, no one else in the apartment at the time of the shooting was harmed. Authorities have assured the public that the incident was contained within the apartment and there was no further risk to the community.
Kiernan Fucci was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail. He is facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The Grants Pass Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the Oregon State Police Major Crimes Unit, the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, and the Josephine County District Attorney's Office.
