On August 22, 2007, 17-year-old Moises Contreras was shot and killed in Long Beach, California. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the area and discovered Contreras critically wounded. Despite medical assistance, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The shooting took place in a residential neighborhood, and it was believed to be related to ongoing gang violence that had affected parts of Long Beach during that period.
