Felix Avelar Duran, age 51, was the owner of a mini-market in Long Beach, California, and was shot during a robbery on March 24, 2014. The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. at the store located near 7th Street and Cerritos Avenue. Duran was critically wounded in the upper torso and remained hospitalized on life support until his death on May 19, 2015.
The suspect, described as a young male wearing a black hoodie with "Cali" across the chest, took the cash register and fled on foot. Despite surveillance footage being released, the suspect remains at large, and a $10,000 reward is still offered for information leading to an arrest. Investigators continue to seek leads, urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in solving the case.
