It was April 1, 1994, and she was on her way to pick up a pizza for her children. She was last seen in the parking lot of the pizzeria between 6 and 7 p.m. after making the purchase. Tragically, she never made it back home, and her children never saw their mother again.
For weeks, there was no sign of Nola or her 1992 red Dodge Spirit.
The search for the young mother came to a devastating end three weeks later. On April 22, 1994, just three days after her 32nd birthday, her vehicle was discovered submerged in a pond in a rural area of north Tulsa County, located at 12600 N. Harvard. After the car was pulled from the murky water, Nola's body was found inside. The medical examiner would later rule her death a homicide, confirming the family's worst fears.
In the initial stages of the investigation, authorities interviewed a man known for vehicle thefts in the area, but no evidence emerged to link him to Nola's murder. Her husband had passed away the year prior, leaving their children orphaned by this senseless act of violence. Despite the years that have passed, the case remains unsolved. There have been no arrests, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the death of Nola Baldwin, leaving a grieving family and a community still searching for answers.
