On February 24, 2008, Ociel Sanchez, aged 22, was shot and killed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in what authorities suspect was an attempted robbery. The incident took place near Sanchez's apartment complex at 9733 East 33rd Street. According to police, Sanchez was outside taking out the trash when he was approached by a man who demanded money. When Sanchez refused, the man pulled out a gun and shot him in the torso.
