On January 17, 2012, 21-year-old Donte Deshawn McCarther was found dead at an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City. His body was discovered in the breezeway of the complex, following reports of gunshots in the area. Oklahoma City police quickly launched an investigation into the murder and identified the case as part of a drug-related shooting.
