Monnie Wayne James, a 38-year-old white male, was killed late in the morning of April 30, 2012, when a routine day in southwest Oklahoma City was shattered by gunfire in a small parking lot along the 900 block of Southwest 27th Street. Police and medical crews were called just before noon and found him lying on the pavement with a gunshot wound, critically injured and alone in the open lot.
