On April 30, 2012, Monnie Wayne James, a 38-year-old man, was found shot in a parking lot in southwest Oklahoma City. His body was discovered shortly before noon in the 900 block of S.W. 27th Street. When emergency services arrived, they found James lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to OU Medical Center, but despite medical intervention, he passed away shortly after arrival.
