In the summer of 2015, the life of 51-year-old Derrick Runnels, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City. On the evening of June 18th, what began as an ordinary day ended in violence that left a community searching for answers. Gunshots echoed in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, and when police arrived, they found Derrick Runnels suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
