On February 2, 1972, John Anderson was found dead outside his home in Dayton, Ohio. Anderson, aged 51, was fatally shot between the eyes while either getting in or out of his car parked in front of his residence on Mercer Avenue. Neighbors reported hearing a gunshot, and upon looking outside, they saw a man lying in the street. Anderson was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later, just past midnight on February 3. The suspect remains unidentified, and the Dayton Police Department continues to investigate the case as an unsolved homicide.
