Dewayne Crawford Jr., 33, of Birmingham, was found by police lying in a parking lot in the 400 block of Second Street West, said Deputy Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates. Police had responded to the scene on a report at 4:30 a.m. today that a person had been shot, he said.
Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:49 a.m., Yates said.
