Jose Jimenez, aged 54, was tragically murdered on December 3, 1993, in his one-room apartment located at 2108 East 28th Street in Lorain, Ohio. His landlord, who was attempting to collect overdue rent, discovered Jimenez deceased on the kitchen floor. The apartment showed clear signs of a struggle, and Jimenez had been stabbed multiple times. The weapon, a Ginsu knife with a 3.5-inch blade, was found lodged in one of his neck wounds, but the handle was missing and has never been located.
