On October 30, 1977, Cynthia "Cindy" Johnson, aged 16, left her home in Garfield Heights, Ohio, around 7 p.m., informing a friend that she was planning to meet a man. Cindy's body was found the following morning on October 31 at approximately 8:30 a.m. She had been placed on top of an industrial rubbish container outside the Titan Fastener Engineering Company warehouse in Independence, Ohio.
