On February 1, 2002, the body of 38-year-old Anna Mae Lainhart was discovered in a skeletal state in Hust Alley, Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio. Anna had been missing since July 2001, and her skeletal remains were found by a man walking his dog. The coroner determined that she had been dead for approximately six months before her remains were found. Her death was ruled a homicide after it was determined that she had been beaten to death with a blunt object, possibly something like a hammer.
