On June 7, 2007, John Harris, a 25-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, was found dead on Fergus Street, having been shot during an apparent carjacking. Harris, the youngest of seven children and a father of three, was killed in the early hours of the morning. After 13 years of persistent efforts by law enforcement, two individuals—Christopher Whitt and Darris DeVaughn—were indicted in connection to his death.
Both face charges of aggravated murder, murder, and aggravated robbery, with the possibility of life imprisonment without parole if convicted.
