On May 7, 2010, 24-year-old Rex Cherry died as a result of blunt force trauma sustained during an altercation at a Shell gas station on East Hudson Street in Columbus, Ohio. The incident, which took place on April 29, 2010, involved a brawl between Cherry, Larry Mabry, and four other individuals. Both Cherry and Mabry were injured and transported to local hospitals, but Cherry succumbed to his injuries after eight days.
