On October 20, 2012, David S. Danley Jr., aged 21, was shot and killed in Dayton, Ohio. The incident occurred at the Salem View Apartments on Central Avenue. According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene around 6:40 p.m. in response to reports of gunfire. Inside the apartment, they found two men with gunshot wounds.
