On the night of February 29, 2016, 25-year-old Emmanuel Osei was found critically injured near a Chase Bank ATM at 2475 S. Hamilton Road in Columbus, Ohio. Police received reports of a man lying in the parking lot just before midnight. When officers arrived, they discovered Osei suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel arrived soon after, but Osei was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight, on March 1, 2016.
The investigation into Osei's death revealed no known suspects or motive at the time, and it remains an unsolved homicide. The Columbus Police Department has continued to request public assistance to help solve the case, encouraging anyone with information to contact either the Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers. Osei’s death left a community seeking answers, and police are still hoping for leads that could bring justice to his family and loved ones.
