On January 7, 1996, 22-year-old Army Specialist Jermaine Willis was tragically killed in a shooting at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Willis and another soldier, Lesean Thomas, were leaving the NCO Club in the early hours when their vehicle was attacked. As they stopped at an intersection, another vehicle pulled alongside them, and the occupants fired multiple shots using a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
