In the late hours of a Friday night in East Chicago, Indiana, the life of 40-year-old Brent Jones, an African American man, was tragically cut short. On September 11, 2026, Jones was at Euclid Liquors when a dispute broke out. As he was leaving the store, he was struck by a stray bullet. Emergency services were called, and Jones was transported to St. Catherine Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
