On the morning of March 14, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in East Chicago, Indiana, resulting in the death of 17-year-old African American male, Justin Charleston. At approximately 11:16 a.m., the East Chicago Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating eight gunshots fired in the 3700 block of Dahlia Street.
