On a tragic Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the life of 33-year-old Anzhela "Angela" Pronina, a female resident of Moab, Utah, was irrevocably altered. A day of leisure turned into a nightmare when her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Charles Anthony "Tony" Nelson, forced his way into her home on Williams Way. The terrifying moments that followed were filled with the sounds of a physical altercation before Pronina fled her residence, desperately seeking help from her neighbors. As one neighbor opened their door, Nelson followed her and shot her multiple times with a handgun before returning to his own residence.
The immediate aftermath found Pronina in extremely critical condition, while Nelson was discovered deceased inside his home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Pronina was airlifted to a hospital for urgent medical care. For six days, she fought for her life, but her injuries proved too severe.
