Ronald C. Hill, a 35-year-old male, was fatally shot shortly after midnight on August 16, 2026, on Chicago’s West Side. The shooting occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. in the 4200 block of West Cermak Road in the North Lawndale neighborhood, near the area of Cermak Road and Kolin/Keeler avenues. Hill was standing outside when a group of people approached him. According to Chicago police, someone within that group produced a firearm and opened fire. Hill was struck in the chest.
After the shooting, the group fled from the scene in an unknown direction. Police and emergency personnel responded, and Hill was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with the gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office subsequently identified the victim as Ronald C. Hill. Authorities did not report that anyone else was wounded during the attack.
