In the warm evening of August 22, 2026, the Benning Hills neighborhood in Columbus, Georgia was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 24-year-old Demarcus Grimes. Reports from that Saturday night indicate that at approximately 7:15 p.m., gunshots echoed through the 2100 block of Shelby Street.
